MONOCHROME SLUTS is the online destination dedicated to a monochromatic sensibility and slow fashion lifestyle. Edited by me, Mariella Agapiou.
Blame working in the ‘industry’, or a sudden, new-found-love for techno and obsession for all things Wang (that AW16 collection was a dream come true for obvious reasons), or perhaps it’s a culmination of both. Either way, a few years back, I found myself gravitating towards a black and white sartorial style. Gone were my 6-inch platforms and pretty prints, and soon I realised I favoured fresh kicks, directional designs and a true minimalists colour palette.
During this time, I was the online editor at the independent publication TWIN magazine, and was published in the likes of ELLE UK, Because Magazine and the Mail Online, while also working at and creating content for INDUSTRIE, LN-CC, Finery London and MATCHESFASHION.COM to name but a few.
Here I collaborate with stylists, photographers, brands, and those I believe to be muses, to create content that sets out to intrigue and inspire.
In a way, MONOCHROME SLUTS is my reaction to being exposed to such a world. To put it in someone else’s words: “I felt wise, and cynical as all hell,” – Sylvia Plath.

PS. I am currently based in Dubai, spreading the word on slow fashion and minimalism throughout the Middle East. Wish me luck: these guys are maximalist AF.
